As my clients know, I’m not just a bicycle advocate, and not just a pedestrian advocate, I am a safety advocate. And when we’re navigating the busy (and sometimesdangerous) streets of San Francisco, safety is much more important than whether we are walking, pedaling, or driving. I’m of the opinion that everyone needs to do their part to avoid collisions, avoid personal injuries, and generally keep one another safe and secure. In our community, we have rules for good reason, and we should all be following them.
Unsafe cyclists have been a recent target in the news, with many…
Officials are investigating the death of a 37 year old San Francisco man, who was killed in a collision on Highway 101 last week, possibly due to falling asleep at the wheel.
The crash, which occurred near Mill Valley early Saturday morning, involved only one car, which drifted off the roadway, crashing into a tree and bursting into flames, according to Patrick Roth, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol.
The driver, behind the wheel of a blue 2014 Subaru WRX STI, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 30 year old man also from San Francisco, was…
Accidents happen all the time. People driving cars get into accidents. People doing their job have accidents. Bicyclists get into accidents. People walking down the street have accidents. Even babies have accidents.

Or perhaps you were involved in a walking accident, but who were you to prepare for a manhole cover that was not repositioned back…
When Stephen Curry went down to the floor in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final, his head hit the wood pretty hard. Not only was this a moment of suspense for us die-hard fans, but it also became the latest incident in an ongoing debate around head trauma and clearing players to get back out on the court.
Curry was eventually cleared to renter the game, but that left some of us wondering, is the concussion testing used in the NBA, and sports in general, effective? Effective enough to clear a player minutes after the injury?
Many were left…
Pedal error, or, confusing the brake from the gas, or the clutch, is more common than you may think. And for our elderly citizens, the risk is even greater. In fact, earlier this month a woman in Livermore lost her life due to pedal error when an 80 year old driver slammed into a gym one Tuesday afternoon.
Studies show that pedal error accounts for thousands of accidents across the country each year, with many of those accidents leading to injury, or even death. Luckily, help may be on the way.
This past month the National Highway…
