Boycotts or Buycotts? Using Money To Express Your Opinion

Expressing your political views is a corner stone of America, and throughout the years we’ve found more creative and interesting ways of expressing those opinions, including, through our wallets. Political views are melding with consumer advocacy; that is advocacy by consumers, not just for consumers. In recent months, as America has become increasingly more politically charged, a campaign called #grabyourwallet has targeted and boycotted brands associated with President Trump, with Trump responding to the campaign in kind by offering support for those brands listed to boycott (or, in this case, “Buycott”) Neeru Paharia, a researcher at Georgetown University, notes…

Busty Posey, star catcher of the San Francisco Giants, should be back in the lineup after missing the past six games due to a concussion. The Giants had announced that Posey would be activated after sitting for seven-days on the concussion disabled list. Posey was injured on April 10th, when he was hit in the helmet by an errant pitch from Tiaijuan Walker, of the Arizona Diamondbacks. San Rafael Truck Crash; According to CHP Truck Driver Was DUI “5 Times The Legal Limit”

An intoxicated truck driver crashed last month on US 101 near San Rafael, temporarily blocking three lanes south of the Central San Rafael exit in Marin County. And how could a person still be that intoxicated that early in the…

Federal Report Says Dangerous Roadway Caused 2016 Fatal Bus Crash

According to federal officials, inadequate highway markings are to blame for the fatal Greyhound bus crash in California last year that killed two people and injured 13 others. A report by the National Transportation Safety Board indicated that the lack of reflective warning markers on US Highway 101 made the driver believe he was in the connector lane when he was actually headed straight into a concrete barrier on a dark, rainy morning. The California Department of Transportation did not properly mark the area separating the two lanes, according to the Board. “This crash did not have to happen because…

Bicycle Commuters Are Six Times Healthier Than Other Commuters

Our firm represents many cyclists who have been injured in San Francisco bicycle accidents. So, how can we still encourage commuting by bike? Because, other than bicycle accidents, bicycle commuters have been found to be exponentially healthier than other commuters, and more bicycle riding could help reduce our community’s health care costs substantially. A British study recently found that people who commute by bike are six times more likely to get their 150 minutes of recommended weekly exercise than those who don’t, according to Brunel University in London, England. We all know that regular exercise is good for you.…
