Distracted Driving. It’s everywhere. Spend a few minutes on the highway and you’ll pass any number of individuals talking on their phones, plugging in GPS directions, or even updating their facebook status. Distracted Driving is not only reckless, it can also be fatal. As cell phone use has been linked to many cases of distracted driving, Verizon is upping it’s commitment to safe driving, and taking “the lead in educating the public and supporting legislation and new technological solutions for driving responsibility.” Bravo Verizon! As a pro-bicycle attorney and advocate, and a lifetime Mill Valley resident and cyclist, I am sad to report a serious bicycle vs. truck accident in Mill Valley occurring last Thursday at or around 5:00 p.m. at the Sycamore Ave. and Camino Alto intersection, one of Mill Valley’s busiest.
I am also concerned about how this bicycle accident happened, to say the least! This intersection is right across from the Mill Valley Middle School, where over 900 students attend, many of whom ride their bicycles to and from school. I was one of these student cyclist who rode to MVMS…
