The California Highway Patrol are on the lookout for the driver of a red and white Freightliner truck because the truck driver struck a pole on Highway 101, in Sonoma County, causing a fatal scooter accident when a scooter rider could not avoid the fallen pole.
Pamela A Warren, a Santa Rosa resident, was thrown from her scooter and struck by a vehicle heading northbound on US Highway 101 after she struck a light pole that was knocked down across two lanes of traffic just north of River Road by a big-rig truck.
The big-rig, a red and white Freightliner tractor-trailer had swerved to the right edge of the highway, striking the pole before continuing its drive north without stopping.
Warren was ejected from her scooter after the crash, and was struck by oncoming traffic when she attempted to crawl to the shoulder of the road after being thrown from her vehicle. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital early the next morning. Of course, the Warren family should consult with a scooter accident attorney, and make an uninsured motorist claim under Ms. Warren’s own policy. Hopefully, the CHP will catch this hit and run trucker, so that he can be made fully accountable for the harm he has caused Ms. Warren’s family. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to Ms. Warren’s family in this terrible time.
If anyone has any information on the crash, or the driver of the truck, you are encouraged to contact CHP immediately at1.707.588.1400
