- Check your blind spots.
- Use your mirrors.
- Signal before turning or switching lanes.
- Give motorcycles more space than you would a car.
- Be extra cautious when turning left- this is the #1 cause of fatal motorcycle crashes.
- Report large potholes or other road defects to your city.
- Remember to look for motorcycle riders in the lane next to you or between lanes. Lane splitting or sharing is 100% legal in California, and lane splitting actually decreases motorcycle crashes.
- Don’t drive distracted!
